About Us

About Us

Zest has helped to fill a gap identified by Peterborough City Council in meeting the need for support for adults with a learning disability in the BME communities. Zest offers a unique awareness of the importance of each individual’s culture and respect for diverse cultures as part of each person’s individual plan.

Zest was founded in 2013 by Erum Ali, an experienced teacher with BSc Honours in Education who has specialised in teaching adults with disabilities in further education. Erum is passionate about using her skills and experience to create opportunities for adults with a learning disability to lead more fulfilling lives by promoting choice, dignity and independence in a learning environment. The service has been developed with a unique awareness of the importance of each individual’s culture.

Zest was delighted with the offical opening in March 2013 and were pleased to welcome the Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson, Peterborough Mayor John Peach and Peterborough City Councillor M.Nadeem. We  received  positive feedback from MP Stewart Jackson who commented “This is a unique service in our local Peterborough area”. We would like to thank all those who attended and supported us to make this project a success.
